Welcome to the website for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons and Royal Ark Mariners in Surrey....

The “Mark” takes its name from the symbol with which a stonemason identified his work and can still be found in many cathedrals and other important buildings.

The history of Mark Masonry stretches back 400 years and has been practiced successfully in Surrey for over 150 years.

Over 40 Mark Lodges meet at centres across the Province, presided over by the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. John French.

It is a vibrant province bringing friendship, knowledge and pleasure to all its members.

The Degree of Mark Master Mason in Surrey is open to all Master Masons.

If the First Degree is about the journey from Darkness to Light and the Second Degree is about putting in to practice what we learn, with the Third Degree teaching us to perform our tasks within the alloted time - what is the Mark Degree all about..... of course, you'll need to join to find out why your Advancement is so special to you and us, as among Mark Master Masons you will ever find friends....

The Degree of a Mark Master Mason is open to all Master Masons and Royal Arch Companions. The Ceremony, in which a Brother is Advanced, can be said to comprise of two degrees; the first in which he is acknowledged as a Mark Man, followed by the second where he becomes a Mark Master Mason.... so we look forward to assisting you in "making a daily Advancement" with Surrey Mark.
